Erectile dysfunction remedy

Erectile dysfunction is one of the most common sexual disorders in men over the age of 20 years. Erectile dysfunction refers to the condition where the penis loses the ability to get or maintain an erection. This is because of the lack of blood flow into the penis. The causes of erectile dysfunction are either physiological like high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, diabetes, etc or psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety, tension, etc.

There are a lot of remedies for erectile dysfunction. The type of remedy that is to be followed by the patient depends on the condition of the patient. It is best to take the advice of your doctor before you start to take any remedy for erectile dysfunction. The most common form of remedy for erectile dysfunction is oral medications. Until now, only three medications have been approved by the FDA for treating erectile dysfunction. These are Cialis, Viagra and Levitra. However these medications may induce side effects in the patients. The most common types of side effects are nausea, vomiting and back pain. Hence people are now opting for natural supplements like herbal medications which are made from natural ingredients and are very effective.

Also there are people using vacuum pumps for getting an erection. A vacuum pump creates a vacuum around the penis as a result of which blood rushes in the penis, making it firm and erect. The vacuum device consists of a plastic cylinder that ids placed over the penis, a pump that draws out air from the cylinder thus creating a vacuum and an elastic bend that has to be placed at the base of the penis to maintain the erection while the sexual act is going on.

Then there is the remedy of penile injections where the drug is injected into the penis. Many people now prefer taking injections to oral medications like Viagra as they are more effective. In the case of penile implants, the implants are embedded in the scrotum. The fluid is pumped from the holding chamber into the hallow cylinders placed within the two chambers inside the penis. The patient can control the inflation and deflation of the hallow cylinders as he desires. In many cases there is no option but to go for surgery. However surgery is an expensive option and complications like infections may arise in the future. Hence many people do not prefer surgery.
